ALUMNI ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The Alumni Association funds two scholarships each year for LCCC students.
  • The LCCC Alumni Association Scholarship
    This award is funded by the Alumni Phonathon and is primarily for part-time students. A minimum G.P.A. of 2.5 or higher is required to be eligible. Applicant must have completed a minimum of 15 semester hours at LCCC, be enrolled in 6-11 credits in the semester(s) in which the scholarship is awarded, and demonstrate participation in community and/or campus activities. The application deadline is April 15 for award in the follow Fall / Spring academic year.   • Abigail M. George Memorial Endowed Scholarship
    Established by the LCCC Alumni Association in 1993 in memory of Abigail M. George '72, a dedicated volunteer and graduate of Luzerne County Community College. Applicant must be enrolled full-time and have earned at least 12 credits at the time of application, be involved in college or community activities and have unmet financial need. The application deadline is April 15 for award in the follow Fall / Spring academic year. WHO WE ARE

Since its inception in 1975, the Alumni Association has had the important role of supporting and promoting Luzerne County Community College in its mission to keep quality education available at a low cost to students. LCCC's Alumni Association is an organization comprised of alumni of all ages who wish to be involved in the exciting growth presently experienced by the Association and the Community College.

The activities of the Association are governed by an Alumni Association Board. The members of the Board meet throughout the year to plan both recreational and fundraising activities and host College events. Members of the Board can be viewed here. If you would like to be a member of the board, or serve on a committee, please contact the Alumni office at alumni@luzerne.edu.

 

WHAT WE OFFER YOU

As an active member of the Alumni Association, you will have the opportunity to help LCCC achieve its goals, to meet and network with people in the community, to participate in a variety of recreational activities, to develop new skills, and of course, to have FUN!

Members work to provide benefits and opportunities for graduates as well as current students. You automatically become a member when you graduate or upon completion of at least 15 credits.

As an alumnus of Luzerne County Community College, you can:

  • Receive Assistance from Career Services including resume enhancement, job announcements and other professional services.
  • Use the College Library and computer terminals
  • Graduates of the College are eligible for a 20% discount at the bookstore. Some exclusions apply (i.e. textbooks) and this offer is nontransferable. You must present your Alumni Association ID card at the time of purchase.
  • Receive a subscription to The Bridge, the alumni newsletter
  • Participate in a variety of recreational activities and social programs including the Alumni Craft Festival, Alumni Graduate Reception, Annual Phonathon, Student/Alumni Programs such as the Student/Alumni Basketball Games, family picnics and recreational bus trips!
  • Receive discounts on LCCC's Continuing Education Courses - LCCC grads are eligible for a 15% discount on non-credit courses taken through LCCC's Continuing Education Department. To receive the discount you must mention the discount program and identify yourself as an LCCC graduate. Some exclusions apply and this offer is nontransferable. To learn more about the vast array of courses currently being offered, courses contact the Continuing Education department at 740-0495 or online visit the website at http://coned.luzerne.edu/.
  • Become a member of the Cross Valley Federal Credit Union- the Cross Valley FCU offers a vast array of financial services to its customers. For more information view their website at www.crossvalleyfcu.org.

Always eager to try something new, the Alumni Association is a fun and active group of people. So if you are considering becoming more involved, we encourage you to do so and we welcome your input.
