 Who Are We?

Luzerne County Community College Foundation, Inc.

A minority student learning English as a second language…an employee from an area company receiving technical/career training….representatives from business and industry pursuing management development courses…non-traditional students like single parents, first-generation college students, and full-time workers attending classes in the evenings and weekends…from a secondary summer school program (Project RISE) to single mothers trying to return to the workforce (New Choices/New Options) to traditional students planning to attend four-year institutions….All these people share a common influence in their lives:  Luzerne County Community College.

Serving Luzerne County and surrounding Pennsylvania communities since 1967, Luzerne County Community College continues to provide services to a growing regional community.  With an average student body of 10,000 located on the main campus in Nanticoke and more than 14 off-campus sites, the College is meeting its mission of providing educational programs that are open, accessible, affordable and flexible in delivery while maintaining an open door policy.

Seventy-five percent of the College’s students remain in the region to live and work. The LCCC Foundation Scholarship Program assists in building a stronger, more vibrant and economically prosperous regional community while playing an important role in developing the area’s present and future workforce.
