What is the Purpose of the New Choices/New Options Program?
The Program offers services to assist individuals to prepare for
high-skill/high-wage jobs or occupational training programs that will enable
them to support themselves and their families.
Who Can be a New Choices/New Options Participant?
New Choices/New Options projects provide career development services for
single parents, displaced homemakers, single pregnant women and individuals
interested in nontraditional vocational-technical education.*

Why join New Choices/New Options?
Joining New Choices/New Options offers participants a number of benefits.
Participants attend a 60 hour workshop series which focus on a variety of topics
including resume preparation, parenting, and financial aid.
How is New Choices/New Options funded?
The program is funded through state funds and are administered by the
Pennsylvania Department of Education. There are currently 27 projects
operating in Pennsylvania.

Textbook Donations
The New Choices/New Options program is currently accepting college textbook donations
from Luzerne County Community College faculty and students. Anyone with
used textbooks who would like to donate them to the program can call 740-0606 to
arrange for pickup or drop the books off at the Career Services
Office in Building 9.
The books will be used for New Choices/New Options participants to help
defray the cost of buying new books for class.
