Position Title: PT Health Services Clerk

Position Classification: Part-Time Classified

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  1. Education - High School Diploma is required; college coursework is preferred

  2. Experience - Two (2) years appropriate office experience is required; experience in a college health setting is preferred

  3. Skills - Communication skills both oral and written; knowledge in the use of computers; knowledge of medical terminology and medical office procedures

    Position Responsibilities:

    Responsible for maintaining and updating students medical records for the Nursing and Health Sciences Programs as directed by the Dean of Nursing and Health Sciences; responsible for filing insurance claims for student accidents and/or injuries that occur on campus and off-campus at clinical sites; responsible for the processing of health credentials and reimbursement for all Nursing faculty; responsible for applying confidentiality provision in maintaining and handling medical records; responsible for maintaining student health records for Health Sciences Programs; maintains all incoming telephone calls and messages; organizes all detailed filing system; maintains updated health information on all Health Sciences Students (Nursing I and II, Respiratory I and II, Surgical Tech, Paramedic, Dental Assisting, Dental Hygiene I and II); in relation to the medical records, coordinates the communications between physicians and the Academic Affairs Office; responsible for letter notification to all professors of all students reporting off ill; types letters, memos, informational bulletins and other documents; posts notices and posters on the health service bulletin boards; assist in providing updated health immunization letters, bimonthly, to all Health Sciences Students; assists in the bimonthly updated notification to all directors of all Health Sciences Student delinquent health forms; assists in the preparation of monthly statistic reports for both faculty and students; assist the Dean in coordinating and implementing health related activities.

    Entry Salary: $9.15/hour

    Standard Work Week: 25 hours
