Position Title: PT Retention Specialist/Dedicated Centers

Position Classification: Part-Time Administration

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  1. Education - Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field; Master's Degree preferred.

  2. Experience - One (1) year experience in student services or a related field; bilingual preferred.

  3. Skills - Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills; ability to organize, prioritize and problem solve; collaborate with staff; effective listening, probing and assessment skills; computer skills required.

    Position Responsibilities:

    Facilitate successful student completion of enrollment process; review student records for retention issues; follow up on progress; assists and problem solves financial issues presented by students; assist with academic advising; coaches and guides students through administrative, financial and academic perceived barriers that are preventing student's retention; assists in the development and implementation of retention programs by following up on existing initiatives and identifying new initiatives; engage in proactive outreach and ongoing contact with students to promote retention; initiate and maintain effective working relationships with counselors, advisors, faculty and administration to facilitate students' understanding of College policies and procedures; maintain accurate and timely data and prepare reports as directed; the above duties are charged to the Perkins grant when services are delivered to Career Technical Education (CTE) students; flexible work schedule and travel to dedicated centers.

    Entry Salary: $22.28/hour

    Standard Work Week: 19 hours
