Game Art And Design
Certificate program (Typically finished in two semesters)
The Certificate in Game Art and Design provides the student the opportunity to learn the introductory skills of game design concepts and visual storytelling. Students who complete the requirements for a certificate in Game Art and Design will be prepared for transfer to four-year institutions of higher education for careers in game art.
This program provides the student the opportunity to
- acquire the skills necessary to apply knowledge to game art and design.
- develop a base of substantive knowledge about the skills of visual storytelling.
- develop the artistic skills necessary to bring a concept to fruition.
- develop an understanding for game play and strategic plan.
The graduate of this program is able to:
- demonstrate design principles, techniques, process, and tools.
- explore and investigate the history and evolution of electronic games and various genres.
- demonstrate an understanding of visual storytelling.
- develop the skills required for character development.
- create lifelike landscapes and environments for game levels.
- explain shading, lighting, texture, and modeling.
- demonstrate familiarity with core UI/UX fundamentals.
