The Biology curriculum is designed to prepare students for
transfer into Biology programs, Biology science education programs and pre-professional curricula at other institutions for
completion of their professional education. A minimum grade of
'C' must be earned in all required Science courses. This program provides the student the opportunity to:
- Understand content specific knowledge in the biology discipline.
- Develop the skills within the Biology discipline to lay the foundation for continued professional development.
The graduate of this program is able to:
- Apply principles and theories in Biology and Chemistry.
- Collect, describe and analyze data.
- Communicate scientific information in a written and/or verbal
format.
- Utilize critical thinking while problem solving.
- Describe the techniques involved in the conduction of research.
- Use basic laboratory instrumentation.
- Explain the various possible areas of study in a specific discipline with regards to professional development.
