|Honor Society Induction Ceremonies|
Several chapters of the LCCC honor societies recently held induction ceremonies at the ECC. Thirty-one students were inducted into Sigma Kappa Delta, whose central purpose is to confer distinction upon outstanding students of the English language and literature in undergraduate studies. Sigma Kappa Delta also recognizes the accomplishments of professional writers who have contributed to the fields of language and literature. Seventeen students were inducted into Alpha Sigma Lambda, the national honor society for adult learners. Alpha Sigma Lambda honors dedicated adult students who accomplish academic excellence while managing the responsibilities of work and family. Eight students were inducted into Psi Beta, the national honor society in psychology for community and junior colleges. The mission of Psi Beta is professional development of psychology students through promotion and recognition of excellence in scholarship, leadership, research, and community service.
