The Luzerne County Community College Drama Club, Communication Arts department, Student Activities Office, and English department will host two performances by the National Players on Tuesday, October 8, at the College's Campus Center.
The company will perform "The Diary of Anne Frank" at 11 a.m. and William Shakespeare's "As You Like It" at 6 p.m. Both presentations will include a post-show question and answer session after the performances.
Established in 1949 and based at Olney Theatre Center since 1952, National Players is America's longest running touring company. The group was founded on the principle of prioritizing areas with limited access to theatre and also acts as an educational ambassador, teaching theatre-related courses to students of all ages and backgrounds. Olney Theatre Center for the Arts produces, presents, and tours extraordinary performances for a diversity of audiences. Its mission is to inspire and educate the next generation of theatre artists and audiences.
Both performances are free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted to help the LCCC Drama Club host future productions. For more information, call LCCC at 570-740-0630 or (800) 377-LCCC, extension 7630.
