The new degree program is designed to prepare students with the required background for successful transfer to a baccalaureate program. The program includes courses in biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics, as well as the general education core. Students will study related theories in the classroom and conduct appropriate experiments in the College's laboratories. As part of the laboratory experience, students will use a variety of equipment including NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance), IR (Infrared Radiation), and PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction).
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, forensic science technicians have a current median salary of $56,750 per year and are expected to experience a 27% job growth by 2024.
