Upcoming Driver Operator Aerial Certification Test Courses

"The purpose of this program is to identify emergency service personnel who demonstrate competency in the performance requirements necessary to perform the duties of a firefighter. The NFPA 1002 Standard of Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator Professional Qualifications identifies the minimum requirements for firefighters who drive and operate fire apparatus in both emergency and non-emergency situations. Someone who is certified at the Aerial Driver/Operator level will have demonstrated competency in the necessary knowledge and skills to perform the minimum requirements of an emergency vehicle driver/operator. Information on the certification testing process, pre-requisites and study guide information can be obtained from the Candidate Handbook and Application" found on the PA State Fire Commission web-site. This is a pilot program. Written is scheduled for Saturday 11/4/2017 at 0800 hours. Practical portion of the test immediately after.
