Upcoming Intro. to the Fire Service Courses
Introduction to the Fire Service, upon successful completion an entry level firefighter shall be able to identify and utilize basic nowledge, skills, and abilities to begin their fire service career. This course will introduce new firefighters to basic information on the fire service, and its organization, firefighter safety, personal protective equipment, tools and emergency lighting, and backing apparatus. This is the first of five levels. You must be 14 years of age at the start of the course. You will need the Essentials of Fire Figting, Sixth Edition (IFSTA) which can be found at IFSTA.org. You will need the book and skill book which must remain in possession of the student until the end of all levels. Helmit, gloves, turnout coat, turnout pants, boots, protective hood, and protective eyewear (safety glasses or goggles) are required for all classes.
