LCCC Spring Class of 2025 EMT Graduates
A dedicated group of students from Luzerne County Community College (LCCC) recently completed the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program offered through the Mary Gill Carrozza, R.N. School of Nursing and Health Sciences.*
These students, who attended classes on Saturday mornings at the College's Francis S. and Mary Gill Carrozza, R.N. Health Sciences Center, are now eligible to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) certification examinations.
The EMT program is a six-credit course that includes 250 hours of lecture, practical, and clinical instruction focused on basic life support skills. The curriculum features lecture sessions, hands-on laboratory work, and scenario-based training designed to prepare students for real-world emergencies.
Students praised the program for its immersive, real-world approach to training.
"Hands-on training and practical exercises were instrumental in building the class's confidence," said Kylie Smith.
Upon successful completion of the program, students are eligible to take both the NREMT Psychomotor and Cognitive Examinations. These credentials are essential for anyone seeking a career in emergency medical services.
