LCCC Men's Basketball Coach Ron Strothers Earns 200th Career Victory
Luzerne County Community College (LCCC) is proud to announce that Head Men's Basketball Coach Ron Strothers has reached a major career milestone, earning his 200th career college coaching victory in Thursday night's 95-85 win over the Misericordia University development team.*
The victory marks a significant moment for one of LCCC's most dedicated leaders -- and one of its own. A former Trailblazer who played for LCCC during the 1989-90 and 1990-91 seasons, Strothers has been a cornerstone of the college's basketball program for decades. First hired in 1997, he has coached multiple seasons with the men's program and previously led the women's basketball teams at both Penn State Wilkes-Barre and Wyoming Seminary.
"This one means a lot, especially here at LCCC," Strothers said. "I've been blessed to coach so many great players over the years. Milestones come and go, but the relationships and the wins we earn together -- that's what makes it special."
Under Strothers' leadership, LCCC Men's Basketball continues to develop strong student-athletes on and off the court, building a culture defined by work ethic, pride, and Trailblazer tradition.
"Coach Strothers is an incredible ambassador for LCCC athletics and for our college," said LCCC President John Yudichak. "His dedication to our students and his love for this program shine through in everything he does. We congratulate him on this remarkable achievement."
LCCC celebrates Coach Strothers' milestone victory and looks forward to continued success throughout the season.
