Position Title: FT Director of Physical Plant

Position Classification: Full-Time Administration

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  1. Education - Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Facilities Management, or related field from an accredited institution

  2. Experience - Six (6) years of effective experience in physical plant management; knowledge of construction and project management.

  3. Skills - Ability to supervise personnel, determine work schedules and follow-up on assigned duties; Some HVAC knowledge with the ability to review and understand related computer programs to direct staff; ability to successfully complete Allerton Class within 90 days of employment.

    Position Responsibilities:

    Supervise and coordinate the work of all assigned personnel in maintenance, custodial and groundskeeping; plan work and work schedules and verifies time worked; enforce College personnel policies; may initiate disciplinary actions; inspect property and confer with appropriate personnel to plan for needed repairs or renovations; responsible for set-ups for special project and events such as graduation and sporting events; coordinate with and advise the Vice President of Operations and Facilities Management regarding inclement weather impacts on campus; coordinate construction projects needs with architects and engineer consultants; review computer program and coordinate staff on all HVAC units; identify and determine need for internal or external repairs through discussion with staff, human resources, and/or external consultants; supervises staff, assigns work and work schedules, adjusts priorities, has final authority on approval/disapproval of leave, conducts performance evaluation of staff, makes recommendations for hiring and/or termination and problem resolution; prepare reports and requisitions for supplies, tools, equipment and other needed materials; operate security monitoring system; serve as College liaison for reviewing compliance with construction projects; responsible for fleet vehicles and key systems; coordinate electrical installation; operate bulldozer, backhoe and snowplow equipment as needed; performs other related duties as assigned.

    Entry Salary: $72,907.29/annual

    Standard Work Week: 35
