Position Title: FT Director of LCCC Police Academy Position Classification: Full-Time Administration Minimum Position Qualifications:
Provide administrative leadership for the Policy Academy, ensuring high standards of training to cadets and current certified police officers; Work collaboratively with College Administration to create, review, and modify Academy curriculum and design student support services to assist cadets from recruitment to gradation; Conduct regular assessment of training outcomes for continuous improvement; Establish and maintain accurate records including all documentation prepared for annual MPOECTS inspections; Coordinate and supervise daily operations of the LCCC Police Academy; Develop and implement policies, plans, and goals for LCCC Police Academy in alignment with MPOETC requirements and College policies; Recruit, supervise, and evaluate LCCC Police Academy instructors and staff and conducts annual evaluations of Academy staff; Ensure Academy instructors are maintaining MPOECT standards for curriculum; Prepare and manage LCCC Police Academy budget; Direct recruitment and screening of qualified cadets for admission to the Academy; Ensure compliance with MPOECTs Academy Director and Instructor Code of Conduct; Foster working partnerships with local police departments and responsive to community needs for training modifications; Teach courses in the LCCC Police Academy curriculum and serve as backup instructor as needed with teaching load and assignments determined by Vice President of Academic Affairs; Coordinate facility use and event space use for all Academy training, ceremonies, etc. with College administration and community partners; Maintain safe use and storage of all training equipment including firearms; Work with Administration to identify and secure grants and donations to support the LCCC Policy Academy; Acts as liaison for LCCC Police Academy for community leaders, local police departments, college leaders, and other stakeholders; Coordinate meeting schedule and agenda for all LCCC External Advisory Board meetings showing responsiveness to Advisory Board and community partners; Perform other related duties as assigned.
