Payment Due Dates

Past Due Accounts
A student account is considered past due if an amount remains unpaid after a tuition payment deadline or a tuition payment plan due date. The College has a comprehensive billing process to collect past-due accounts, including regular e-billing, financial holds, pre-collection activity, and the use of professional collection agency services. Following the drop/add period each semester, a financial hold is placed on a past-due account. This hold restricts a student from registering for future classes or receiving grades or transcripts for any semester with outstanding financial obligations to the College. It's important to understand the implications of a financial hold, as it can significantly impact your ability to progress academically here at the College.

Payment Arrangements
It's important to understand that while our office is here to support you, any debts incurred during your enrollment at the College are ultimately your responsibility. Our goal is to guide you through the payment process. We offer various payment agreements to help you manage your account until it's paid in full. For any questions about payment arrangements, please don't hesitate to contact the Business Office at 800-377-5222 option three or email us at paymentplans@luzerne.edu. It's important to note that students who have made payment arrangements will continue to have a financial hold (including a registration restriction) on their accounts until their balances have been paid in full.

Collection Agencies
Accounts that remain past due without formal payment arrangements after the conclusion of a semester are subject to assignment to one of the College's designated collection agencies, which may impose additional collection fees. Past-due accounts assigned to a collection agency may be reported to one or more national credit reporting agencies. If your delinquent tuition balance has been placed with a collection agency, you must make payment arrangements with that agency. You should have received a letter with the contact information for the collection agency selected to service your account. If you do not have the letter, please get in touch with us.
