Let's review what you've learned in Lessons 5-15:

  1. Can you identify your “soft” and “hard” skills?
  2. Do you understand the components of a resume? (If you need more assistance writing your resume, please contact the Career Services office located in Building 9, room 904.)
  3. Do you understand the difference between a personal and professional reference? (Start thinking about who you can ask to be a reference.)
  4. Do you know how to create a LinkedIn profile? (If not, please review Lesson 10.)
  5. Can you create a 30 second Self Marketing Statement? (If not, please review Lesson 10.)
  6. Do you understand how a Job Fair operates? (Be sure to attend the college’s job fairs in the spring semester.)
  7. Do you understand the importance of networking? (Begin making professional contacts today.)
  8. Do you think you would benefit from an informational interview?
  9. Are you able to create responses to commonly asked interview questions, such as, “Tell me about yourself?” (If not, review the interview modules in Big Interview at JobGateway (click on Career Services) or visit the Career Services Office.)
  10. Do you have a plan to find job openings in your major after graduation? (For more assistance, please see the Career Services office.)
