Scholarships

Once you complete your FAFSA and all required steps, please log into self-service to accept your award and review if you have a credit balance (negative balance). If you do, please contact the Business office to request a bookstore account be set up using the anticipated credit balance up to $1,000. Once the bookstore account is set up, it will show on your student account as a miscellaneous charge. It is ready to be used at LCCC Trailblazer bookstore using your student ID.

Work on campus in a part-time job. You must be eligible for federal aid, demonstrated a financial need, and are enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits.

Get Involved!

The Athletics program at Luzerne County Community College is set to return for the 2022-2023 year. The program will offer intercollegiate sports, including men's/women's cross country, men's/women's basketball, baseball and softball. Intramural sports will also be offered, starting with co-ed volleyball to allow all students an opportunity to participate in athletics.

The Peter Lello Food Pantry at Main Campus(Nanticoke Campus at the Campus Center 2nd Floor & Wilkes Barre Campus Main Office) provides food to our students who are experiencing food insecurity or may need supplemental food options or personal care items. We realize that there are many financial obligations for students and from time to time it is difficult to cover all expenses necessary to be a successful student. Stop by for some nutritious food.

The Hazleton Center Student Food Pantry is located in Room 207 on the 2nd fl and accessible Monday-Thursday 10 AM-2 PM and 4:30 PM-8:30 PM. It is a confidential program to aid LCCC Hazleton Center Students in need of on the go breakfast and lunch/dinner items, snacks, beverages, basic school supplies, & personal hygiene products. Please see an advisor for admittance or any questions.

The Peter Lello Food Pantry at LCCC Wilkes Barre Campus is located in Room L113. Stop by for some nutritious food. The Wilkes-Barre Center Student Food Pantry is accessible Monday-Thursday 9AM- 5PM and Friday 9AM-3PM. We all struggle now and then or there may be times when you just need to talk with someone. LCCC Counseling Department is here to support you. If you need assistance with adjusting to college life or are struggling with a personal or academic situation, we have a team of professional counselors to assist you and help you in navigating this season of your life. We can also connect you to a peer mentor who has been trained and is eager to help you succeed by guiding you from a student perspective. If appropriate, we can also refer you to community resources for long-term counseling support or other relevant services. LCCC Counseling Department is located in the Campus Center on the Nanticoke Campus, however, all services are available remotely. We are here to help you reach your full potential and help alleviate barriers to your success.

Hispanic Heritage Month - 2024

Hispanic Heritage Month - 2024

There was no shortage of events to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month 2024. The events, sponsored by the Latin Club in conjunction with Peer Mentors, DEI and Student Life included activities with a theme every week of the month. Middle September featured "Celebraciones de la Independencia" at the Campus Center cafeteria. Music, Food, and the kick-off a month-long flag activity highlighted the event. Late September featured "Sip & Paint" with music and desserts at the Campus Center 2nd floor student lounge Early October featured snacks and drinks and board games at the Campus Center 3rd floor Student Lounge. Later in the day, students and staff played a friendly game of baseball at the women's softball field. The Mid-October "Fiesta" was held at the Campus Center Rotunda with flag activity winners, music, food and drinks.

KEYS is a referral program available to individuals who are receiving either TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) or SNAP (Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program) benefits and are enrolled or intend to enroll at Luzerne County Community College. The KEYS program provides academic, personal and career support services to participants while they are attending the college.

Luzerne County Head Start, Inc. is a federal and state funded early childhood education program that focuses on promoting the school readiness of eligible children ages 3 to 5 through family involvement, health and nutrition, education and family social services. Head Start has an on-campus location at LCCC's Nanticoke Campus.

ACT 101 is an academic supportive program focused on helping you graduate. The program serves students who tested into one or more developmental courses, have earned a GED, be a language learner, or returning adult that has been out of school for 5 or more years, and meet income guidelines.
