Federal Work Study Program


Luzerne County Community College participates in the Federal Work Study Program which provides part-time jobs to undergraduate students enrolled at the college. Students must have Satisfactory Academic Progress, have a completed FAFSA which demonstrates a financial need, and be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits to participate in the program.

All applicants must complete a Work Study Application. Click button below or apply in person by going to the Financial Aid Office, Building 5, and Room 508.

2023-2024 Work Study Application

Work study positions are available on all LCCC campuses and at Non Profit Organizations in the community. Please specify on your application if you have a job preference.

  1. Student who meet eligibility requirements will meet with a Financial Aid Specialist for placement and to complete and process payroll paperwork;
  2. Students will then meet with the Work Study Supervisor for their specific Work Study placements to discuss job position and requirements.

Students can earn $14.50 an hour and can work a maximum of 20 hours per week while enrolled in school.

Students are paid bi-weekly. Work Study checks are sent to students by U.S. Postal Mail. Direct deposit or check pickup options are not currently available.
